KomodoWFM ("we", "us", or "our") operates the KomodoWFM mobile application (the "App"), a field workforce management platform designed for industrial technicians and operations teams. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

                By using KomodoWFM, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance
                with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
            

🔐 Sensitive Permissions & Data Access

KomodoWFM requests the following device permissions. The table below explains exactly why each permission is required and how the data is used.

📍 Precise Location (GPS)	GPS coordinates are embedded as a watermark in field photos to verify the technician's location at the time of the finding. Location is only accessed when the technician captures a photo or initiates a check-in. The App does NOT collect location continuously in the background.	Yes
📌 Approximate Location	Used as a fallback when GPS is unavailable (e.g., inside buildings), to provide coarse location data for check-ins.	Yes
🔔 Notifications	Sends local device notifications to alert technicians about new work orders, assignment updates, and sync status. No push notification server is used beyond the local device scheduler.	Optional
🌐 Internet	Syncs work orders, findings, and status updates with the KomodoWFM backend (Supabase). Required for core functionality.	Yes
💾 Storage (Android ≤9)	Required on older devices (Android 9 and below) to save captured photos temporarily before upload. Not requested on Android 10+.	Android 9-

⚠️ Location data is never shared with third parties. It is embedded in photos solely for field audit purposes and stored securely in your organization's KomodoWFM account.

👤 Personal Information (PII) We Collect

We collect the following categories of personally identifiable information:

Account data: Full name, work email address, employee role, and job title — provided during account creation by your organization's administrator.
Authentication data: Encrypted session tokens managed through Supabase Auth (email/password authentication). Passwords are never stored in plaintext.
Profile photo: An optional profile picture uploaded by the user. Stored securely in Supabase Storage.
Location data: GPS coordinates captured only at the moment of a field photo. Not stored independently — embedded only within the photo metadata for the associated work ticket.
Field activity data: Work orders assigned to you, check-in timestamps, findings reports, and checklists completed during your shift.
Device identifiers: We do not collect advertising IDs, IMEI, or any persistent device identifiers.

🎯 How We Use Your Information

Information collected is used exclusively for:

Authenticating and authorizing access to your organization's KomodoWFM account
Displaying and managing work orders assigned to you
Attaching geo-tagged photos to work tickets as field evidence
Generating operational reports for your organization's management
Syncing offline activity when network connectivity is restored
Sending notifications about work order updates

                We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling,
                or any purpose unrelated to workforce management operations.
            

🗄️ Data Storage & Security

Backend: Data is stored in Supabase (AWS infrastructure), encrypted at rest and in transit via TLS 1.2+.
Local storage: The App caches work orders locally on your device using Hive (encrypted local database) for offline functionality. This cache is cleared on logout.
Retention: Account data is retained for the duration of your organization's contract with KomodoWFM. You may request deletion at any time by contacting your administrator or emailing us directly.
Photos: Field photos are stored in your organization's Supabase Storage bucket. Deletion follows your organization's data retention policy.

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate information in your profile
Delete your account and associated personal data
Withdraw consent for camera or location access at any time through your device's app settings (note: this will disable affected features)
Export your field activity data — contact your organization's admin

🚫 Children's Privacy

KomodoWFM is intended for use by adult professionals (18+) in industrial and field service environments. We do not knowingly collect any information from persons under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has used the App, please contact us immediately.
